Support at Home overview
Bungree Aboriginal Association offers services under the Support At Home Program (SaH), an initiative of My Aged Care.
The Support at Home Program forms part of the Australian Government’s continuum of care for older Australians. It is designed for people with complex care needs that require a coordinated package of support to help them remain living safely and independently in their own homes.
The program aims to:
- Assist people to remain living at home for as long as possible; and
- Enable participants to have choice and flexibility in how their aged care and support services are delivered
PACKAGE LEVELS
The Support at Home Program consists of eight package levels.
Levels 1–4 support lower to mid-range needs, while Levels 5–8 support higher and more complex care needs.

• Level 1: Minimal Support for mostly independent people needing a little safety help, like fortnightly cleaning.
- Contact My Age Care to discuss your needs
- If appropriate, you will be referred for an assessment
- An Age Care Assessment Team (ACAT) member will assess your care needs and determine your eligibility and package level
• Level 2: Light Personal Care & Social Support for those needing regular weekly help with tasks like showering or gardening.
• Level 3: Moderate Assistance requiring structured support several times a week, such as nursing check-ups and meal preparation.
• Level 4: High-Frequency Support for people needing nearly daily help with household and personal tasks.
• Level 5: Daily Support with Health Monitoring for those needing daily care, including managing chronic conditions.
• Level 6: Comprehensive Health & Clinical Care for individuals with high-level needs requiring daily nursing or allied health.
• Level 7: Intensive Daily Care for people with severe needs requiring multiple daily visits and specialized nursing.
• Level 8: Highest Level of In-Home & Palliative Care for individuals with the most complex needs who require frequent daily support. The funding provides significant in-home assistance.
ELIGIBILITY
Support at Home program has been developed to assist frailer older Australians to remain in their home.
